Did Tom have a change of heart or was it not his idea to end the show in the first place?

my understanding is that he just wanted to get paid to do the show.  WFMU is a listener supported station.
not only do Tom & Jon (and even AP Mike) not get paid for doing the show there, they can't discuss any other projects they are working on.  I think Tom is looking for a way to get paid a living wage.

Unless you count the endorsement deals from Coors.

I recommend you listen to the final episode of the show. Everything is explained.

Tom.

From Tom's twitter...

Okay, who in NJ can help me with a T1 line? THE PROCESS BEGINS. #BestShow2014

I want to see the best show come back with Larry Da Perv and Spike playing the roles of Horatio and Marcellus in Hamlet, and Mike playing Bernardo.  Tom is the ghost.  Philly Boy Roy is the prince.

The Best Show archive has been inaccessible the last couple of days around 12am central.  My guess: site maintenance.  My hope: Tom is getting ready to drop some big news....

May those of us who are unable to do the skype thing know, or is it a sworn secret?

I've signed up for mobile alerts when tom tweets to catch the announcement of the return of the best show.  I honestly don't know whether that's sad or not, and it's made me question whether the best show is my favorite thing of all time.

Music and comedy have been coequals in my life. I still remember hearing it for the first time. It was like finding el dorado.

Still, the mobile alerts thing...probably pathetic. I'll take the licks where the licks are due.

right there with you.  the extent to which i enjoy the best show has made everything else a VERY distant second.  when jake fogelnest or julie klausner make references to the best show in a very easy way, where you can tell its just a part of the normal thought process, i find that pretty validating.  I think i was thinking of the brian stack interview on HWYW.  being a giant fan could always be interpreted as pathetic.  the key is to not be nuts.  and not make people who arent fans listen to you naming every trent l strauss movie.

Well it's been 2 weeks and no one has provided any details so maybe you can? And don't say I should joined the skype thing because that's not feasible when you live in Europe and have a job.

Someone provide some details, please, otherwise what's the point of this thread (which started with such details!)
