Anyone want to talk about the Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry phantoms?

Wes, this page also includes a writeup of "Spirits of '76," the one with Benedict Arnold.

The Scooby Doo Show was where they upped the humor and got rid of the hippie nonsense of the 60s version. It was a good waystation before they got rid of the jock and the chicks and brought in the execrable Scrappy Doo.
So was William Devonne an actual historical American traitor, or did they just make him up to have a third ghost to go with The Ghost of Benedict Arnold and The Ghost of Major Andre?
I wasn't crazy about this season of Scooby-Doo while growing up because of its reliance on Scooby-Dumb, who was nearly as bad as Scrappy-Doo. But looking at your link, they were bringing it with their villain designs. The Ice Cream Phantoms, the No-Face Zombie, Dr. Coffin and the 10,000 Volt Ghost, that's some serious business there. Plus, The Ghost of Ebenezer Crabb is my go-to reference for Peter Gammons or Andrew Jackson.
I'd say this calls for a Rate A Scooby-Doo Villain Based Purely On Its Appearance thread, but we never even did that Review A Choose Your Own Adventure Based Solely On Its Cover thread.
