Every XTC song I have in a mega-playlist.  Surprisingly few duds.  Don't get me wrong, I love them, but I've always considered their post-Terry Chambers output to be a mixed bag.  It's all sounding pretty good now, though - might be time for a reevaluation.

Upgrade everything but Oranges & Lemons. That gets my vote for the biggest disparity between what an album's cover promised me the album would sound like and what the album actually sounded like. I still like a few songs on it, especially The Loving, but I really hate how the whole thing is produced.

It's my favorite. Skeleton Steps Out, Chalkhills and Children? These are incredible. Also, one of the greatest bass guitar albums of all time. The first six or seven songs are amazing examples of McCartney-style bass melodicism (is that a word?)

Wes is right, I think.  The songwriting seems up to par, but the sound of it all is sorta unpleasant.  It's really fake-sounding - the drum sounds drive me bonkers.

Wait, where's the joke here?

Terre T's show from Saturday. Only a few songs in right now.

Great show, as always.

And, in answer to the question:

Not the actual cover of the long-player I'm listening to, but I can't find that on Google.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

McCoy Tyner - Trident ... really strong record minus that harpsichord opening.

This Fucked Up video that they did with video camcorders (retro!) on pitchfork.tv.  The guitarist is wearing a Cherry Blossom Clinic t-shirt!

This actually sounds worse on vinyl than mp3.  But in a good way.

Steve Martin playing banjo and singing about grandma's something or other.

Blue Oyster Cult.

The songs, She's as Beautiful as a Foot and Cities in Flame with Rock and Roll are a great one-two punch.

try em out!
