Listening to The Stranglers'
No More Heroes. I'm a fairly recent convert to these guys' records. For too long, I wrote them off as misogynist bar-band dudes cashing in on England's late-'70s punk momentum, but I'm fixating on a few of their records lately. They're great! I was wrong about them!
Graham Parker--Squeezing Out Sparks. Still in my all-time top twenty.
Graham Parker - Discovering Japan
InDEED Fredericks, PREACH IT.
Yes. This album is so great. The version I have has
Live Sparks appended to it, and it's awesome. They do a great cover of "I Want You Back" and a vicious version of "Mercury Poisoning."
If I can ever get up the nerve to play a solo show, I'll probably do "Local Girls."
