Between that and "Jazz Fart", the Best Show is coming up with some amazing (albeit nonexistent) "deep cuts".

(I'm pretty sure that Kraftwerk doesn't have a song called "USB Port", but I could be wrong).

If this trend keeps going, it could turn into an amazing compilation album ... sort of an alternate (fake) rock history project. Like a "Nuggets" comp from a parallel universe.

Aimee Mann could read the phonebook for three hours and I would be OK with it. Tom and Todd Barry could comedically riff on the names she called out, and every so often she could trump them with a meta-pun. I think I have just described my personal heaven.

It's when Mike is talking about the hot older neighbor that he got to party with as a teenager. He says something along the lines of "Although the term wasn't around then, now we'd call her a MILF."

I was so glad to hear Tom et al come to the conclusion that John Hodgman is today's George Plimpton. I've been having exactly that same thought for months!

Though now that I think of it, maybe I heard or read Hodgman express admiration for Plimpton, and didn't really come up with that connection myself. It's becoming more and more difficult to separate my own thoughts and opinions from things I've read online or heard on the Best Show. That's a good sign, right?

I think the main difference is that Hodgman seems to regard sports as some sort of allergen. I'm trying to think of an intellectual, somewhat nerdy comedian without the accompanying neurosis that he reminds me of, and coming up blank. Buck Henry?

I also think Plimpton's Intellivision endorsements basically broke down as "this guy is a big sports dork, let's get him to elaborate on why our sports games are more realistic than Atari's", but seeing as how you can't buy MLB the Show 2010 for Intellivision I think we can safely say that campaign was still a bad idea.
