I found the Skeevy segment enjoyable mostly because of Tom's annoyance.  Also, I thought Skeevy's voice sounded eerily like Billy Crystal's bigoted "Jazzman" for New Orleans routine.  I think he can dig that.

I'm watching Weird Science tonight, and the three of them just walked into the Kandy Klub. Cue the record needle scratch and then everyone staring at them frozen in silence. Awesome.

For years, my brother would annoy me with "How'd you like a greezy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?"
Remember how he couldn't stop his leg?

Weird Science brings to mind another class of film: movies that are extraordinarily quotable and yet almost unwatchable.

Amen. I hadn't watched it in years, and couldn't believe how many lines I remembered ("I guess she's into Malacas, Dino"). But on the heels of this week's Best Show, it was the record needle that killed me.

I was happy to hear that Trent L. Strauss was knighted in Malta.

It's been over five years since we've heard from Sir Strauss, but it's nice to know he's doing well and has put the tragic events on Everest completely behind him.
If I tried, I could probably make at least six figures for shaking my moneymaker.

There have been plenty of Best Show moments that made me laugh harder, but I can't recall ever howling so relentlessly as during the Skeevy segment. Mike seemed to know exactly where Tom's limit was, and delighted in toeing that line. The ensuing tension (and dare I say camaraderie) between Tom, Mike, and Skeevy made this an instant classic in my book. (Plus: "clipping the curlies")

Hugman's post made me laugh harder than anything since Skeevy.

I still have to listen to last week's show. But there's one thing I do know: Skeevy > Wally Wackiman....

ETA: I am now at the moment of greatness, Skeevy's entry to the show...

ETAA: Skeevy is so awesome...

Best: tender moment from the Alaskan lad. Also, Tom and Spike. After all this time, Spike legitimatley laughed with Tom. Both shocking and beautiful.

Spike, ya gotta make an appearance! Just think how cool it would be to spin a track or two of your favorite records to listeners all over the world!

Agreed. However I would like to comment on Tom's decree that Spike not call into any other shows. I understand this in theory, but I believe it would do more to hurt Shut Up, Weirdo than it would to help the Best Show. Maybe we can look at the big picture before we issue blanket statements. It's not like Spike is a Larry the Perv type character who exists only on the best Show. Spike may be an oddball, but he is a genuine one, not a schticky one.
