After further consideration, I think Tom's "no! Nuh-uh!" in response to Adler's comment about Antonio Ringotti having "laid waste muff" was the high point.

That coupled with his "OOOH HOOO, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW!" when that caller told him to hold one was just the best.
Wailin' the eff outta that vibraslap!

Re Last Night

Given all the publicity for the box set the past few days, and all the S&W press, I was already hoping last night's show would be one of those shows to win over new listeners.  There was no special guest announced, which made sense.  This was going to be a full-on raw Best Show with mostly all Tom.

And then the first caller came on.  It was like being blinded by radiance, and an immediate sense of calm.  Behind the nerves and energy was this angel by the name of Avalanche Bob 33.   Thank you Avalanche Bob 33.  You already made last night's show a classic just one call in.

Loved last night's show...  The "worst" part is a recurring one: Too Many Dudes.  I was taken back a little by the caller from Boston trying to mansplain Seth MacFarlane/Family Guy to Tom... first time I actually felt anger toward a caller in a while..

The Newbridge call broke barriers in sonic adventure at the end, and had me on the floor laughing.

Is AvalanceBob33 the first eccentric stand out of the New Era?

I briefly checked out the YouTube channel and it had a bit of a Tim & Eric vibe. I think he might be genuinely odd, but there might be someone who "knows better" tweaking the presentation on his website, etc.

I like how Tom just let it happen and rolled on.

There was the woman that called in twice to sing, she was on the first show of the .net era, I think.

Enjoyed hearing Roger Goo-dell compared to the martial arts training dummy.

I think our beloved Bebe from Vegas was a tad eccentric. Come back, Bebe!

Last night's show was increasingly incredible. The Avalanche Bob 33 call couldn't have been written to a better level.

"The show's over. I'm going to go drive my car into the Hudson."

Best: The Ringo dismantling, especially as Tom made "Peace and Love" become full-on cursing. And Ringo trying to hide from Jason Vorhees.

Worst-Best: As Mackro said, the guy trying to explain Seth McFarlane to Tom, but the call was saved when Tom asked him if he liked Family Guy and when the caller admitted to it, got unceremoniously hung up on.

Fair points, but both the singing lady & Bebe were calling back in the WFMU days. I think AvalancheBob33 may be the first true star of the digital phase.
