'Pain is temporary, pride is forever'

The back of a t-shirt of a guy running a marathon faster than I taught me that.

You kids are tragic.

Pain don't hurt.

True. It is simply weakness leaving the body. Henry Rollins told me that.

I would be pleased to punch myself, too.  Wait.

Seriously, congratulations, DfK.  You needed to do something somewhat unpleasant for your health and you effing did it.  That's so much better than most of your fellow countrymen.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Downside? They may never let me back in to Wisconsin.

Congrats, Dave!

I have lost 3 lbs since the beginning of the year. Not to blow my own horn or anything.

But to be fair to you, you probably weren't "positively Brimsteadian" to begin with.

I'm just glad the biggest loser is back on the air to guilt me. I poured myself an adult beverage and sat down to watch it then promptly poured said AB down the kitchen sink.

Not meaning to brag, but in my attempt to coax my liver out of it's near-catatonic state, I have, as of today, officially lost 50 pounds. At this rate, I will have to find a better scapegoat for my low self esteem than "really really fat'.

Awesome! You must feel like a million bucks ...

Apples! They're magic!

They are - unfort, I don't eat them because they make me really bloated - I think it's all that fiber. I feel like a puffed up blowfish about 3 hours after I eat one.

what kind do you eat?  if you haven't already, try eating green apples and see if they do the same.  they're lower in sugar.

Well, there is that. Unfortunately I've found out my cholesterol is Brimsteadian recently. I need to load up on apples myself.

Congrats, Dave!

Apples are incredible! My favorite are the milder granny smiths.
I ate a banana before my 4 mile run this morning. Bad idear. Apparently they can make one...windy?
I read that eating bagels while running is good. I tend to wonder at that, because bagels are really dry and could easily be choked on if eating while running.
I have been trying to build up my iron (someone said something about it being important) by eating spinach. I really like spinach, but it's time to find some other iron-rich foods.

You can always try those little packets of syrupy/sugary gel...'Gu'...
