They don't even have Michael McDonald this year for backup vocals!

I won't hide the fact that I like some Steely Dan (but not for the fact that they are these jazz-pop geniuses who play in weird time signatures) but I do think they've got some hits. I love my yacht rock.

Boddhisattva alone redeems any Steely Dan excesses, and they've still got the entire side 1 of Katy Lied in the favor.

Only if they play The Caves of Altamira.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I would take you, but pretend that I was just enjoying the show ironically, making sure to only mouth the words when you were looking away.

I think Steely Dan is one of those bands with an almost entirely male fan base. They did some kind of PBS concert once, and they were interviewing all the bearded bald guys in line before the show and one guy had his girlfriend with him, and was sort of proudly showing off that he had his girlfriend with him and she liked Steely Dan. And then the cameraperson asked her what her favorite Steely Dan song was, and she says "I really like Year of the Cat!" and the guy's face falls and he has to get past his complete emotional destruction to say "That's...that's Al Stewart" and you can see him die inside.

This was awesome.
This may be the year I will disappear.

If we're being honest, my favorite Steely Dan song is Baker Street.

You used to think that it was so easy.

Well, you're crying now.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Yeah, my favorite Steely Dan song is definitely "Sweet Child O' Mine."  Followed closely by "Anarchy in the UK."

But in all seriousness, the only Steely Dan song I can leave on when I hear it on the radio is "Ricky, Don't Lose That Number," and that's mostly because of it's use in Say Anything.
"I was in the shower and it occurred to me why the Hendersons named their guest "Harry."  That movie has layers!" ~ Jack Doneghy, 30 Rock.

Saw the Dan in Berkeley last Saturday. It was half awesome, half retarded.

My companion (male, single, 39) was very excited about the cougars in the audience (attractive older ladies).

I bet he would have been pretty excited if they'd been real, too.

It's Rikki, you Danadummy.

Steely Dan is named after a sex toy in a Wm. S. Burroughs novel.  I think it would be cooler if they were named after a sex toy in an Edgar Rice Burroughs novel.

That is all.

Yeah, I can't hear that song without thinking of John Mahoney singing along to it while driving.
