A Band Called Death is on instant now and I liked it a lot.
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

This movie totally rules. It's the "Citizen Kane" of early '70s Australian Donald Pleasence abject alcoholism movies.

Wake in Fright is on there now too.

WAKE IN FRIGHT 40th Anniversary Trailer

This movie's great.

I'm in the middle of watching Computer Chess (2013). It's a weird little faux-documentary (dumb edit: it's a "mumblecore" movie rather than a faux-documentary) set in an early 1980s convention (which is chock full of the requisite weirdos and geeks) for computer chess programs. Pretty good so far.

Ever do nothing and gain nothing from it?
Ever feel stupid and then know that you really are?
Ever think you're smart and then find out you aren't?
Ever play the fool and then find out that you're worse?

The Long Goodbye is really, really good. The best adaptation of a Chandler novel I've seen (even though many liberties are taken with the source material), and Marty Augustine is perhaps one of the greatest noir villains ever.

Yup. This is one of the all-time greats. Marlowe's resigned motto "It's OK with me" has become something of a mantra for me (which is probably a bad sign.)

Love that one. I'm not actually that huge of an Altman fan, in that he made only two movies I consider truly great: That and McCabe and Mrs. Miller.

(Two great movies is nothing to sneeze at, of course; I just don't rate him as highly as many do.)

You don't like Nashville or 3 Women?

I haven't actually seen 3 Women since it was released. Thieves Like Us came close. California Split might too, but I've never seen it under conditions where I could make out a line of dialogue. But no, for me Nashville misses by a mile.

The craziest thing about Nashville to me is that he tried to sell Shelly DuVall as a sex symbol. Maybe that's because I saw Popeye, though.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
