I liked Laurie's call, that list of bands she can see on Today is great...also I like when Tom brings up Palladia (sp?) because I also love to stare in awe at the bizarre live concerts they show (they do show some good ones, but the "so bad they're mesmerizing ones are even better).

Mike's song, "Gary," had a certain "Get Metsmerized" vibe to it.

Speaking of Rick Dees, would you believe he had other disco+animal novelty song

(Fun trailer but the movie must be terrible)

Ed Begley, Jr., Issac the Bartender, and Gallagher.  Who could ask for anything more?

And, though I didn't recognize him in the trailer, Sorrell "Boss Hogg" Brooke.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Rick Dees was the smarmy morning host of Top 40 station KIIS-FM in Los Angeles during the 80s.  I undid the preset of KIIS in my houehold when one morning, he played this new single by Mike + The Mechanics' called "The Living Years", and Dees went on this creepy rant where he urged all of the fathers and sons listening at that moment to call each other NOW, and mend their ways immediately!  I was already listening to the (then) commerical alt.station KROQ and slowly edging toward KXLU, the college station.  After that Rick Dees rant, I became a regular listener of KXLU, which changed my life.

(My family didn't know how to set radio presets on anything, so that was one of my few opportunities of dictating household policy.)

EDIT: acc. to his wiki page, he remained the host until 2004! Oh my god.

He also briefly hosted Solid Gold.

Listening to this week's show (again!). Tom never ceases to amaze me with his impersonations. While they may not be dead on 100% of the time they sound close enough and definitely capture the essence of whomever he's mimicking.

Case in point : David Lee Roth

Ok, "Bill from Baltimore." This show featured (using that word extremely loosely) two of Richmond's lamest sons: Jason Mraz and Zach. I wish both would just quit.

Loved Kurt on this episode.

I thought that was Sh** H***** Z as Bill from baltimore!

I almost choked at work during the different strokes writer's table talk.
