"It Takes Two" is my karaoke stand-by. "I wanna rock right now..."

I just caught pottymouth Carl Newman letting out an "Oh shit" in response to one of the good parts of "Lightning Crashes."

My standby is 'Staying Alive'. My biggest flame-out was 'Bennie and the Jets'.

Julie wins the night with, "I want you to heckle at The Moth." I couldn't stop laughing at that.

My karaoke standby is Motorhead's "Ace of Spades." I flamed out hard the night I tried to do "Elvis Costello's "Everyday I Write the Book." That was the night I realized that for a terrible singer, Costello's not bad.

Just the suggestion of hip-hop style "skits" for a Bon Iver album.

I feel like I missed something as I'm listening to last week's show. Who was this Gramps Tom keeps referring to?

That would be Mac of the Antique Phonograph Music Hour which precedes TBS.

Gramps was a Garrison Keillor-esque character Tom did at the beginning of the show last week. He promised to play three hours of ice cream truck music.

My karaoke standbys are: "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" and "If I Could Turn Back Time". Flameout: One time, I tried to do the Scissor Sisters version of "Comfortably Numb" which did not work - in part because the person who was singing with me decided in the middle of the goddamn song that it wasn't working and sat back down, leaving me hanging. Unbelievable.

"Thumbs down, Shandling. You're a rat. A rat for life."

"Look, man. I'm further to the left than you'll ever be. I'm ready to torch the system. Torch it. ... If I had my own druthers, me and AP Mike would be riding a scooter around with Molotov cocktails, throwin' 'em at Wall Street."

Best:
-Tom offering to hire himself out to write skits for hip hop albums
-A bidding war among every record label in the US to release the "LA Podcast"/"Podcast Hero" double a-side
-Tom being able to instantly name Marvel Premiere 15 as the debut of Iron Fist with zero time to prepare

Worst:
-The fact that we only got about two minutes of Tom's a capella renditions of the Zeppelin catalog instead of a solid hour, which I would have listened to with no hesitation.

Undecided:
-"...a sexy AP Mike costume?"
This may be the year I will disappear.
