Last night's show was really great.
The best was the cicada "Frankie Teardrop", but there were tons. The Milo call was perfect.

The worst was the guy trying to goad Tom into trashing the Doors just after Manzarek passing.

Bonus best was hearing Dave from Knoxville call. Great show all around!

Also, I took umbrage at the Supertramp diatribe. They were great! To me they were like a Lite version of Pink Floyd crossed with the Bee Gees, and I mean that as a compliment. Ready to be mocked...

I bloody well right got your back on this one, Iago.

Me too.

I've always liked Supertramp. And the Grateful Dead. And The Band. And Steely Dan.

You all realize that when I don't like something, I'm only speaking for myself, right? And your opinions are just as valid to you as mine are to me, right?

Tom.

I guess I might have my ass handed to me for this, but somehow I do not get the Jello Man charm.

I think it's pretty funny when he gets into the nitty-gritty of his business decisions.

On a recent Sound Opinions, the main guy from Tame Impala mentioned Supertramp as an inspiration. I don't hear it.

Plus, isn't one of the show contributors the longtime drummer for Super... oops, never mind.

I never mixed up those two bands, but there was a time when I had no idea what the difference was between R.E.M. and REO Speedwagon.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Loved the "Mike L."/Guitar Center portion.  I kind of picture Mike L. being Jandek - he's got some high-end gear in the pics I've seen.

Also, I bought Supertramp records at age 11.  I'm not going to say it all holds up, but Crime of The Century has some of the bleakest lyrics I've ever heard.  Ian Curtis could've written some of them.  It was my first indication that lyrics didn't have to be vague platutides about love or whatever.

I tried pitching Supertramp revisionism to my ladyfriend a few years ago but she knew better. She was right: I couldn't even make it through side A of Breakfast in America.

Tom's take on Radiohead is brilliant.

Here's where you can hear and download the EP of Mike L's band Poor Man's Dunaway: http://poormansdunaway.com/

Here's some video of Mike L. playing a fontastic song:

Too bad you didn't try Crime of the Century first...that's the one non-Supertramp people can sometimes get into.
