"Dump this guy" got me to do a spit take. Who's paying for a new monitor?

Agreed on "...Dump this guy." Perfect.

Also, the whole bit about Metallica being hypnotized into an elaborate bank heist until the car backfire broke Phil's hold on Kirk, and the image of a confused Metallica scattering. Somewhere in that part, the very quick "I got it right that time!" Mobster/Monster exchange killed me, too.

Who will present Jerry Ferrara with the Academy Honorary Award at the 2054 Oscars?
This may be the year I will disappear.

I held my breath for the first part of the Todd Palin call; election-season political humor can and usually is lame, no matter where your alliances.  I needn't have worried; this might have been one of the all-time great Wurster calls.  I'd be saying "Hah? Hah?" all day if I thought anyone would get it.  And Todd's desire to visit the Dischord House and dismissal of the High-Back Chairs cracked me up.

The revelation (to me, at least) that Grote is co-hosting a new show on FMU! Very exciting stuff.

Todd Palin's call was a stone-cold Best Show classic. (Also strangely timely for me -- I just saw Metallica: Some Kind of Monster a few days ago after years of people telling me how awesome it is. And it is awesome. Really funny and kind of touching, even if, like me, you couldn't care less about the band.)

Also, I like the sound of Jason G's new show! Gotta check that out. (I'm a big Samuel Beckett fan.)
Use your head, can't you, use your head! You're on earth, there's no cure for that!

Was the guy who got dumped the lemon merengue pie guy from a couple of weeks ago? I can't remember his name.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Oh yeah, I made that mistake too.  Awful.  Look, nothing against Lord of the Rings, but what kind of Tolkienite do you have to be to come up with something like "Bumblefoot?"  Doesn't it just smack of Hobbits?

Finding out why Tom doesn't grow a beard was also fantastic.
