You guys probably tear up when you hear Lady in Red.

You're right, I totally tear shit up every time I hear Lady in Red:

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

You've got to admit that's a wee bit...well...Ronald Thomas Clontle.

Butt-head: I like stuff that's cool.  I don't like stuff that sucks.

Did I get called a butt-head?

Now to push this one page further, I heard "In Too Deep" by Genesis today.  That is terrible, uncool, not cool, and terrible.

Sorry to question your post earlier, AllisonLeGnome. Just a healthy debate, like rabbis around the Talmud.  :)

It is cool to like uncool things, but only cool uncool things, not uncool uncool things, ie. preferrably uncool things that reflect favorably upon established cool things.

It's really, really easy, or so I hear, since I'm totally uncool and any claims to the contrary I will deny wholly.

It's the intern dance party at The O'Neill!  And unfortunately it's long past, but if you want to make it up to Connecticut, I think the Cabaret Conference is still happening, if you like your entertainment on the really, really gay side (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I am finally getting around to organizing my music collection for the first time since AFK was born. Just for Julie, here's one little chunk of it

Cockburn, Bruce   Waiting For a Miracle
Cockburn, Bruce   You Pay Your Money and You Take Your Chance
Cockburn, Bruce   You've Never Seen Everything
Cocteau Twins   Blue Bell Knoll
Coldplay   X and Y
Cole, Lloyd   Negatives, The
Collins, Edwyn   I'm Not Following You
Collins, Phil   12"ers
Collins, Phil   Both Sides
Collins, Phil   But Seriously
Collins, Phil   Face Value
Collins, Phil   Hello I Must Be Going
Collins, Phil   No Jacket Required
Collins, Phil   Serious Hits Live
Colvin, Shawn   Fat City
Colvin, Shawn   Few Small Repairs, A
Comets on Fire   Avatar
Confront James   Ill Gotten Hatred
Conti, Bill   Rocky Original Motion Picture Score
Cooder, Ry   Jazz
Cooder, Ry   Johnny Handsome

Of course, the RIAA will be pounding on my door with an injunction of some sort 10 minutes after I hit "send". Did you hear they shut down muxtape?

You have "But Seriously Folks?!"  You are hardcore, Dave.  I had jumped from the Phil Collins ship a few years earlier.

Phil Collins should personally write and thank every fan who stuck with him from his art rock days up through his Disney days, because there are likely very few of them.  I am pretty sure if you looked at the makeup of his fans across his career, it slowly morphed from rope-smoking long-hairs to Republican soccer moms with the biggest shift occuring around "But Seriously Folks."  But Dave, you stuck with him all the way through! Kudos!

This makes me think of John Mulaney's bit about riding around with his mom and having her listen to terrible music, with her saying proudly "This is MOM'S music, this is only for Mom! Yay!"

I remember a long time ago they posted a clip on Beware of the Blog of Genesis playing on an old TV show, and at the end of the song Phil Collins does a bunch of crazy stage moves and leans over and you can see he’s wearing a thong. It was pretty funny. Did anybody else ever see that?

I keep hoping Raad_Man will chime in on this thread.
I'm warning you with peace and love.
