I've gained about 15 pounds since this thread started, but I'm not gonna complain about it.  I hide it pretty well.

yeah, well, you can thank your glasses for that.

I should note that Songs To Kick Ass To 2 is definitely hard R.  I went back and forth on including that Snatch & The Poontangs song, but I do love it so.

It should've been titled, "Songs to Kick Ass Two".

In the last month I've had zero beers.
In the previous month I had roughly 180 beers. (seriously)
I have not lost a single fucking pound. (seriously)

Yeah but you weren't heavy to begin with...

I'm doing Weight Watchers again. Two more pounds and my jeans will fit right again! Yay!

(Keep in mind when you're under 5'2, losing 4 lbs IS a challenge... especially when you love bread and cheese and chocolate and french fries and croissants and ice cream and did I mention cheese?)

Forgive me if I'm repeating myself. When I got into the best shape of my life (six-pack, etc) three things seemed to be the key: No potatoes (life without them isn't that bad although I've been eating lots of fries lately), no white flour (maybe a burrito once a month if that), and weight training.  And interval cardio training would probably be a good idea, too.  I was also doing a play at the time in which I was the lead and freaking out in every single scene and the rehearsal schedule was pretty hardcore so I'd recommend adding being the lead in a play to your fitness regimen.  So make that five things.

That's nice to say, Erika, but you haven't seen me without a shirt on.  I've got about 15 pounds I'd like to lose or at least turn into muscle.
I've taken to shooting hoops by myself every day, kind of like the guy in Roger and Me who had a nervous breakdown after losing his job.

I'd need to add antidepressants to combat the crushing depression I would get from cutting out all my favorite foods. Noooo thank you.

Right there's the thing that makes all the diff. Everything else you're saying is true to be sure but I've found adding in some lifting to whatever I"m doing really kicks the whole game into the stratosphere. Just me, of course. YMMV.

No potatoes or white flour? What's left?

...but you haven't seen me without a shirt on.

that's what mike birbiglia describes as, "a guy who could really put the brakes on an orgy."

it's what i call, "at least you only look like that (or feel you look like that) without a shirt on."

i have cut out bread, cut the potato intake by half (what little there was), and no soda (diet or otherwise).  i drink juice (not from concentrate), milk, and water.  i'll have a beer on occasion, but the occasion isn't freqeuent enough as far as i'm concerned.

the diet is key here because i can't afford a gym membership or a bike right now, but i am walking to work.  it helps.
