I just watched Gnarr, very enjoyable.  I tend to watch a lot of documentaries on the streaming site.  I loved The new Ross McElwee as well, if you like personal documentaries he is one of the best.  Start with Sherman's March.  The next thing I plan to watch is general orders no. 9, which was recommended on the PFR blog.   
I'm also slowly working my way through the Wallander episodes, which have all been amazing.  If you like thriller mysteries with a bit of darkness to them this is the one.

We Don't Care About Music Anyway- "documentary" about Japanese noise/experimental music scene.  Worth watching but far from what I wanted to see.  It only deals with a handful of artists, most of the "live performance" is totally staged and set in "interesting" locations, lots of montage scenes where it mixes random  footage with music and you don't really know if you are hearing the artists actual work or what the director put together.  It's not informative at all.  No history or even names at the bottom of the screen to let you know who you are watching.  That aside, it has a few great moments.  The duo that plays on the beach is pretty good.

The Dictator- Just watched this last night.  New to Netflix.  Makes Bruno look classy.  It had some really funny moments but they were outweighed by vulgarity and racism.

John Dies at the End- loved this movie.  It's like someone did a study on my interests and made a movie just for me.  Surreal horror comedy.  Weird wild fun.

I saw Room 237, and although I enjoyed it, I just couldn't get behind some of the hidden messages from Kubrick that they went on about.

I watched Parts I and II of the Ken Burns Prohibition thing. It was a pretty entertaining slideshow about Prohibition and gave a bit more of a sympathetic background to pro-Prohibition forces, including the connections between Prohibition and Women's Suffrage movements.

Ken Burns's series on the Dust Bowl is like watching a documentary of a living nightmare. Jesus Christ did those people have it rough. And to think that before the Dust Bowl-era began, they had several plentiful years, giving them the impression that good times were ahead.

I watched this. Salinger's obsession with and mental abuse of young girls gave me the creeps. If you want a good creep double feature (in celebration of the Halloween season) watch Evocateur and Salinger.

We're making it a blockbuster weekend.  Earlier, we watched Europa Report.  Not scary, and not sure if it's on Netflix yet, but I enjoyed the lighting and its delivery.

Ken Burns's series on the Dust Bowl is like watching a documentary of a living nightmare. Jesus Christ did those people have it rough. And to think that before the Dust Bowl-era began, they had several plentiful years, giving them the impression that good times were ahead.

This is why I laugh at all this tough guy nonsense among many of today's Republican white dudes. We are all as soft as pillows. We can hope that we have the mettle to survive something like that, but it's tough to know for sure as you wash your gleaming white super-cab pickup with no scratches in the bed.
